The Claremont College's Women's Rugby Football Club is the collegiate team for the Claremont Consortium which consists of Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges. The team was supposedly founded in 1995 and the team name is the Foxes. We play in Division II within the Southern California Rugby Football Union (SCRFU).

Before 2003, SCRFU's policy was to send the top ranked Division I team to the Division I Nationals and the Division I second ranked team was sent to Division II Nationals. In 2003 they began sending the DII league champion on to the DII Nationals. The Foxes went to Nationals at the University of Northern Iowa in 2003, Bowling Green State, Ohio in 2004, and Sanford, Florida in 2006. In 2006, Claremont beat Georgia State, moving the league from 8th to 5th in the National Rankings. The foxes returned to Nationals again this year and beat East Carolina University to move on to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, Claremont lost to the University of Minnesota - Duluth.

We practice Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 4:15 to 6pm on Linde Field at Harvey Mudd (#23 on this map of the Claremont Colleges).  We welcome new players year round, no experience necessary.
