With the Six nations fast approaching and a game against Australia already slated for Australia, England’s No 8, Billy Vunipola would end up missing the Eddie Jones led side as they attempt a shot at history.
Vunipola had left the field at Twickenham in tears just before halftime, in the game against Argentina where England emerged victors with a 27-14 win over their rivals.
Scans carried out today revealed that a damage to his knee ligament will cause him to be sidelined for almost 3 or 4 months.
The revelation is a huge blow for the England side, the team who are attempting to become the first England squad in the professional era to finish a calendar year without any loss this weekend.
To replace Vunipola, is either Jack Clifford or Nathan Hughes, with both men recalled to the squad just last night.
And with the three week suspension of Elliot Daly after the red card he received in the game against Argentina, SemesaRokoduguni and MarlandYarde will be looking to fill up his spot on the wing which is now vacant.
Both wingers had been impressive during the 21-20 win by Harlequin over Bath played at the Stoop.
The director of rugby at Harlequin, John Kingston was full of praise for the duo.
“Marland played well and I think Eddie was here, so he’ll have been impressed with both our wingers,”
“Rokoduguni played well too, he had less involvement because he had less ball but he’ll be impressed with Marland’s attitude too.
“He is a powerhouse, he’s almost an energy barometer for us, so physical and he chases everything.”
This week, Eddie Jones will meet with JacoPeyper, South African referee to talk about what he feels are Australian scrum tactics as he believes they are doing things illegally.
